The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University makerspace, also known as "The Bird House", is a 7,700 square foot facility located in the Science and Technology building. Students have the opportunity to realize their ideas through project based learning.
Students are supported by a broad set of tools including 3D printers, a laser engraver/cutter, a CNC plasma cutter, CNC mills, CNC lathes, and more. The toolset will continue to expand and provide students with an increasingly large range of options when contemplating project designs.
The makerspace is a center for interdisciplinary collaboration where students working toward different majors can team up to expand their design possibilities even further. Seniors majoring in engineering are encouraged to take advantage of this facility when working on their capstone project. The industrial engineering on campus capstone courses INEN 4323 and INEN 4385 are offered in the makerspace.
