About College Panhellenic Council

Scholarship

Sororities were founded on principles of scholastic achievement and the enhancement of opportunities for their members. Individual chapters encourage scholastic excellence by planning academic and incentive programs and by placing grade requirements on both initiated and new members. Chapters offer academic programs that may include study groups, tutoring, and time management workshops, as well as provide information for on-campus resources. The resources available to sorority members provide them with the opportunity to balance high academic achievement and co-curricular activities. The primary reason for attending ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University is to receive a quality education; and for CPC, focus on academics is paramount. CPC has a collective GPA of over 3.0, which is nearly 15% higher than all-women’s GPA.

Service

Sororities provide members with the opportunity to give back to the local community through service and philanthropy. Each chapter supports national philanthropy and participates in campus-wide community service projects such as Relay For Life, Greek Council’s Fall Fest, Southeast Texas Food Bank, and the Setzer Center’s Annual Holiday Food Drive. In addition, CPC members contribute hundreds of volunteer hours per year. One of the most gratifying aspects of Sorority Life is the sense of satisfaction and pride that comes from involvement in community service.

Leadership

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University's Greek Community is an ideal place for student leaders to gain experience. Developing strong leadership skills, having opportunities to practice these skills, and recognition for achievements are integral parts of the Greek experience. Within each chapter, students find leadership roles that fit their unique interests and abilities, including academics, finance, philanthropy, music, and more!

Sisterhood

As a member of a sorority, you will have the opportunity to meet students of various backgrounds with both similar and different interests in a smaller, more comfortable atmosphere than our university of over 14,000 usually offers. Within each of the chapters, there is a close bond of friendship and family which only the Greek atmosphere can foster. The idea of sisterhood is a cornerstone upon which each sorority is built and from which you will receive a lifetime of benefits. As a member of a Greek organization, you will form friendships unlike those found in other organizations.
