The College of Engineering's L.I.T.E summer camp was held July 10 to July 14 where students got to participate in hands-on activities and lessons intended to introduce them to the concepts of engineering and the various disciplines of the field.

������Ƶ University's College of Engineering has earned high-rankings from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard for producing career-ready graduates who are out-earning all other public Texas university graduates four years into the their career.

Associate Professor of Teacher Education Dr. Mamta Singh was named the 2023 Faculty Mentor Award recipient in the Humanities, Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Education and Business (HASBSEB) Category at the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Award Ceremony for exceptional mentorship efforts.

������Ƶ University has earned the highest percentage increase in formula funding among all 38 universities in Texas. Recently approved by the state legislature for the next biennium, this boost in funding demonstrates a growing alignment between the university's goals and the state's vision for higher education.

������Ƶ University’s Annual Undergraduate Research Exhibition (EXPO) is the showcase of the Office of Undergraduate Research (O.U.R.) grant supported programs. This years exhibition featured over 55 speakers with students and speakers from around the globe.

College of Engineering professor Dr. Qin Qian received $105,000 federal grant funding for industry and community resilience from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

������Ƶ University's College of Education and Human Development taught digital literacy to middle and high school students at the "Bridging the Digital Divide" summer camp with the help of an AT&T Foundation grant.

The Wayne A. Reaud Excellence in Education Award celebrates and recognizes superior contributions of teachers whose leadership and dedication inspire a spirit of learning in students. Fifteen teachers are selected annually to receive this prestigious Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the education system of Southeast Texas. 

The Dishman School of Nursing received $90,000 from Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas to aid in providing clinical faculty to senior-level nursing students.

The Collegiate 100 of ������Ƶ University attended the C100 Leadership and Career Institute Conference in Las Vegas, where they were named national winners against Morehouse and Texas Southern University.

Dr. Phillip Cole, Chair and Professor of Physics, received over $300,000 in grant funding from the National Science Institute under the organization's Research in Undergraduate Institutions initiative.

Dr. Xuejun Fan received the EuroSimE Achievement Award for fundamental research and industrial application in the field of thermal, mechanical and multi-physics simulation and experiments in microelectronics and microsystems.

Dr. Katherine Sprott receives the Outstanding Advisor of the Year award at 43rd Toast to Leadership award ceremony.

KVLU Public Radio at ������Ƶ University will be adding a new program to its schedule with “Friday Night Jazz,” a weekly show which will showcase many aspects of the jazz music genre and its history. The program will air every Friday night, starting July 7 at 11 p.m. and will be hosted by LU alumnus Andre Harness.
