Jennifer Shannon is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University having taught classes in music appreciation and music theory. She also is the Adjunct Instructor of Flute at Lee College. In 2013, she served as the Interim Instructor of Flute at the University of Oklahoma.

Outside of collegiate teaching, Jennifer is a freelance flutist and private flute instructor. She is the founding member of the flute and clarinet (Ronald White) duo Beau Deux. In 2023, Beau Deux was selected to perform a musical showcase at the 2024 Texas Music Educators Association Convention. Jennifer can be heard performing locally on flute and piccolo with the Southeast Texas Winds and Percussion and as a substitute with the Symphony of Southeast Texas and the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra (LA). Prior to moving to Beaumont, she was a substitute with the Lawton Philharmonic (OK) and member of the Houston Heights Orchestra (TX). Jennifer has been a featured soloist with the Southeast Texas Winds and Percussion, Academia Filarmonica (OK), Cape Girardeau Municipal Band (MO), Central High School Wind Ensemble (MO), and Central High School Symphony Orchestra (MO). She can be heard playing flute and piccolo on several cds from Naxos and Marc Custom. Jennifer has been named Guest Artist and/or Clinician with the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University Wind Ensemble, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University Flute Day, Owasso Band Program (OK), and the University of Oklahoma Symphony Band. She has twice been a guest speaker at Tau Beta Sigma’s “Women in Music” events.  

Jennifer’s private flute studio boasts flutists of all ages including Texas All State Band members, UIL Superior rated musicians, and national competition winners. She is an active TMEA Judge and All State Band Sectional Coach. Jennifer has taught summer music programs, master classes, and lessons to flutists across the United States.
