Guns and Bolts

Guns and Bolts is a series of science-fiction illustrations that depict pivotal moments within a post-apocalyptic world. Inspired by comic book storytelling, the work celebrates creative freedom and serves as a visual homage to popular culture. Influences from both classic and contemporary media inform the narrative, drawing from themes of advanced technology, desolate landscapes, and humanity’s struggle to survive. Technically, the series embraces traditional comic art through expressive mark-making and dynamic composition. Conceptually, it explores the tension between bleakness and resilience. This world is harsh, ruled by cybernetic augmentation, malfunctioning machines, and the dominance of brute strength. Yet, even in a wasteland, brief moments of benevolence can emerge. The characters remain intentionally nameless, emphasizing the loss of identity and morality in this environment. Their anonymity highlights themes of instability and madness, allowing the viewer to focus on the emotional tone rather than individual backstories. Ultimately, Guns and Bolts envision a grim future, fictional yet relatable, where humanity is tested at every turn.
