Always, Almost

Always, Almost , created as a love letter to the chronic pain community, is a series of multimedia editorial illustrations aimed at inspiring reflection and raising awareness about living with chronic pain. It embodies the ongoing struggle of being on the verge of healing but never quite reaching it, capturing the balance between hope and limitations.

This thesis features six artworks depicting scenes of struggle, emotional weight, and frustration, with words from individuals in the chronic pain community and hand-painted watercolor flowers. Viewers are encouraged to see the pieces from left to right, as they tell a collective story. As a member of this community, Kelly highlights that acknowledgment, understanding, and grace are often overlooked. Through this series, she hopes viewers gain greater empathy and appreciation for those facing these daily challenges, capturing the delicate balance between hope and limitations, reflecting the resilience required to navigate this journey.
