I Love Me

I Love Me stands as a graphic design thesis, a collection of digital illustrations thoughtfully interwoven into a children's book. This creative endeavor draws inspiration from the revitalized iteration of the Disney Channel's beloved series, "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder." Grounded in comprehensive research encompassing political underpinnings and the intricate considerations of crafting literature for young readers, this project embarks on an exploration of the critical theme of hair representation.

Delving into the nuanced issue of discrimination within the African American community, which can manifest as early as the tender age of four, I embarked on a mission to construct a children's book that imparts vital lessons on self-love, particularly catering to African American girls aged five to eight. Through the course of this creative journey, I have acquired invaluable insights into color theory, the art of storytelling, and the transformative process of manifesting ideas into a tangible product. Fueled by a profound passion for drawing and a deep affection for the world of cartoons, I've breathed life into this project with the aim of nurturing and enlightening the younger generation
