Stephanie Chadwick is an associate professor of modern and contemporary art history and the chair of the Department of Art & Design at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University in Beaumont, Texas. She earned her Ph.D. from Rice University in Houston, where she focused on twentieth-century art and visual culture, previously earning an M.A. with an emphasis on nineteenth-century art at Florida State University.

Her research interests include modern art and theory with an emphasis on French painting; relationships between art, literature, and colonialism; and art in local and global contexts. She has published articles and educational essays on modern artists and a book titled Jean Dubuffet, Bricoleur: Portraits, Pastiche, Performativity (London: Bloomsbury Art and Visual Culture, 2022). With the Department of Art & Design faculty and community art museums and nonprofits, she co-authored and edited the textbook Art as Living Practice: Southeast Texas and Beyond (Kendall Hunt, 2020).
