ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University is pleased to be able to provide funding for scholarships. The university is
committed to supporting the best scholarships from various educational, socioeconomic
and geographic backgrounds. Scholarships are funds that do not have to be repaid and are
awarded and paid out to the student based on the type of scholarship that is received.
University funded awards, also known as general scholarships, are awarded to incoming
freshman and transfer students that meet set criteria based on GPA, high school rank and/or SAT
or ACT scores. These scholarships are determined from the GPA and rank on the high school or
college transcript.
Incoming first-year students and transfer institutional scholarships are used for recruiting
purposes and will follow a fair and equitable process. These awards are based solely on GPA,
class rank and/or test scores.
The general scholarship awards include:
Students that receive a room scholarship must accept going into their first semester at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University. If the scholarship is not accepted, declined, or a student does not live on campus the room portion of the scholarship is forfeited, and cannot be re-offered at a later date. If a student chooses to forgo the housing portion, it will be removed from the scholarship offer and will not be re-offered later.
Any student enrolled in an accelerated will be ineligible to receive university funds.
The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University Foundation works to ease funds to assist current and future LU students. Each scholarship is set up to be offered according to the donor's wishes. Scholarships funded through endowments at the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University Foundation require the recipient to write a thank you letter and attend a donor event either in the fall or spring, depending on the scholarship.
A large amount of scholarship funding for out students comes from outside of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University. Students seek out, apply for and are offered there scholarships from local, state, and national organizations. Students then bring these awards with them to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University and utilize them toward the total cost of attendance. All outside scholarships should be reported to Student Aid at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University every year via the Resource Form in Self Service Banner.
Outside/external scholarship checks can be sent to the following:

cumulative GPA, enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester and maintain an overall 3.0 GPA
or higher. This award can be offered for up to four semesters (two academic years).

(either from inside or outside the university) may impact your eligibility for certain aid
programs. Your current financial aid package may require adjustment. If the Student Aid Office
receives a scholarship after aid has been disbursed for the semester, you may be required to
repay any aid for which you no longer qualify.
Any student enrolled in an accelerated program will be ineligible to receive university funds.
Athletic scholarship recipients are selected by LU coaches, along with the LU Athletics Department. All incoming freshman student-athletes are eligible for the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University incoming freshman scholarships as indicated above, as ling as they meet the priority deadline by applying through myScholarships. Athletic scholarship students must not be awarded over their Cost of Attendance and may have their funds reduced to stay in compliance with aid.
