Thomas Harvey has been an educator for 40 years. His background includes practitioner experience as a teacher of music at all levels; a fine arts department chair; a campus principal at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels; and as a school superintendent in two very different school districts.

Prior to his current role at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University, he served as an Assistant Professor at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla. His research interests include principal preparation, organizational assessment, and instructional supervision. He is also keenly interested in school accountability and accreditation.

His graduate level background includes the development of syllabi and the facilitation of instruction. The following list is an abbreviated sample of courses that have previously been assigned to him:

Recently, he has been active in the Field Supervisor’s role.  He works closely with students during their practicum activities. He has also been actively engaged with the restructuring of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Competency Exam (LCE) and its associated activities. In his spare time, Dr. Harvey enjoys working on his ranch located in East Texas, playing the trumpet and consulting school band programs, and training his Black-mouth Cur dogs.
