Internship

Internship opportunities provide unique opportunities for students to engage with the many facets of capital punishment. We will consider those with experience within the areas of human rights and the death penalty, as well as those who are keen to get started within this field and have little or no previous experience.

Responsibilities

Interns perform a diverse range of activities. Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by working alongside the Center for Death Penalty Studies team, and gain hands-on experience, by:

  • Conducting legal and policy research.
  • Researching prospects for new legislation, including both national and federal laws.
  • Assisting in the preparation of our Newsletter.
  • Assisting with the ongoing Projects.

Qualifications

The internship is open to criminal justice and law students who possess the following:

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including internet research.
  • Proficiency in Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • A strong interest in,and commitment to reform of criminal justice systems, and practice of human rights.
