History Department Unveils B.A. in Applied History degree for Fall 2026
In addition to its standalone B.A. and teacher certification plans, starting in the Fall 2026 semester, the history department will offer a new undergraduate degree in Applied History. Read more about it here.
Jamie Blackburn Receives Student of the Year Award
Jamie Blackburn received the history department's 13th Annual Student of the Year Award in the Spring 2026 semester. Congratulations on this honor!
Kibbe receives 2024 University Merit Award for teaching
Dr. Tina Kibbe, assistant professor, was named one of three recipients of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University Merit Award for 2024. The award recognizes junior faculty for their outstanding teaching.
Forret awarded University Professor honor
Dr. Jeff Forret was named 2023 University Professor. The designation has honored one distinguished senior faculty member every year since 1972. It was known as the Regents' Professorship from 1972 to 1995. Previous winners from the history department were Ralph Wooster (1972), L. Wesley Norton (1980), Paul Isaac (1981), Naaman J. Woodland, Jr. (1989), John Storey (1990), John Carroll (1991), and Ronald H. Fritze (1996).
