Cassandre Broussard teaches U.S. history courses and serves as an instructional assistant for online academic partnership courses. Her research interests include Italian and Italian-American history, and her thesis was titled “Of Seeds and Sorrow: The Italian Immigrant Experience in Texas and Louisiana, 1880-1925.” She published an article on the recruitment of Italian immigrants to post-Reconstruction Texas and Louisiana in the Texas Gulf Historical and Biographical Record. Her current research examines changing perceptions of Italian-American cultural identity.
