The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences offers two Bachelor of Science degree pathways: Clinical Medical Laboratory Science and Biomedical Science emphasis. The MLS program is the department’s clinical certification pathway, while the Biomedical Science emphasis provides a non-licensure applied laboratory science foundation.
Both pathways prepare students for careers in healthcare and science, with opportunities in clinical practice, research, industry, and graduate or professional study. The clinical track of the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences is a newly established program developed in accordance with the standards and requirements of the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) and intends to seek programmatic accreditation as soon as possible.
NAACLS is the recognized accreditation agency that supports excellence in program standards and the preparation of competent laboratory professionals.
