LU celebrates spring commencement with 2,300 graduates  

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University held its spring commencement ceremony at the Montage Center on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11, recognizing the achievements of its graduates, and conferring over 2,000 degrees.  Commencement 2024  

“Our 2,310 graduates come from 25 countries outside of the United States, 40 states other than Texas, and 381 cities and towns in Texas,” Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dann Brown said.   

Dr. Jamie Taylor, President of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University, reflected on the institution's rich century-long legacy and underscored the pivotal role that the graduating class plays within ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University’s history. 
 
“A century ago, Beaumont was a bustling boomtown facing many growing pains, but a group of visionary community leaders recognized that the region would need access to higher education to achieve its full potential,” Dr. Taylor said. “They founded our institution with a unique mission tailored to the needs of southeast Texas and understood the crucial role of higher education in developing talented leaders who could drive progress and innovation in a rapidly changing world. We celebrate the legacy of our founders because they made it possible for you to be sitting here today. Remember, you are now a part of this rich history.” 

The commencement marked the beginning of a fresh journey for the graduates as they venture into the professional realm, prepared to embrace ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University's principles of creativity, diversity, and dedication to continuous learning. Students at Spring Commencement 2024
