ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University is pleased to announce Anthony “Tony” Sanchez has been selected as ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University’s assistant vice president of human resources and talent management. Sanchez will bring his expertise to LU to focus on recruitment and retention of top talent.
“Tony is a veteran human resource leader who has a history of transforming and overseeing robust human
resources functions,” said Jeremy Alltop, vice president, finance and operations/CFO. “We’re lucky to gain such an experienced professional and are excited to see how he implements HR strategies to help us achieve our goals for a unified, diverse and talented work force here at LU.”
Since 1993, Sanchez has worked in the healthcare sector serving large diverse organizations. Throughout his career, Sanchez has gained experience in all areas of human resources including ethics, compliance, leadership development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, recruitment, payroll, employee satisfaction and engagement, retention, acquisition, team building and coaching and mentoring.
Prior to joining ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University, Sanchez, who has a Bachelor of Arts degree in corporate communications from Southern Methodist University, served as the vice president of human resources and change management at Prospect Medical Holdings - Nix Health System, a multi-campus Acute Care and Psychiatric Regional System in San Antonio. While there Sanchez initiated and implemented a workforce plan increasing efficiency, boosting performance and aligned strategic HR functions. As a result, the organization achieved the highest customer scores and highest employee engagement scores in the company, as well as above national average in retention of employees. Most significantly, the organization achieved designation of 5 Star Quality Hospital, the only in the San Antonio region at the time.

Sanchez holds certificates in “Developing a Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Program” and in “Diversity and Inclusion in a Global Enterprise.” Additionally, he is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management and a former member of the board of directors of Economic Empowerment Project Quest, Inc. Sanchez has also served as a panel speaker for the American College of Healthcare Executives.
