Jeremy C. Alltop – LU’s new VP, Finance and Operations/CFO

Jeremy C. Alltop has been named ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University’s Vice President of Finance and Operations/Chief Financial Officer. Alltop will begin work at LU Jan. 29, replacing Craig Ness, LU’s retiring Vice President for Finance and Operations.  Alltop was selected for this position following a national search led by a search committee

“Mr. Alltop is uniquely qualified to take over the management of this critical division of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University following Mr. Ness’ extraordinary leadership,” said Kenneth Evans, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University president. “As a leader in higher education innovation, as well as entrepreneurship, LU needs someone who recognizes the value of private/public partnerships to higher education and who also has a background in finance and administration. Jeremy’s experience makes him a distinctive fit for this position.”

Alltop joins LU after serving as the senior associate dean of administration and finance/chief financial & operating officer at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine in Reno, Nevada. While at Reno, Alltop was responsible for a variety of administrative and clinical functions for a research intensive and community-based medical school including finance and accounting, human resources, facilities/space planning, process improvement, research administration, information technology and healthcare revenue cycle. Additionally, he served as the most senior non-clinician executive for a related faculty physician multispecialty group practice -University Health.

Under his leadership the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine transitioned a $100 million campus in Las Vegas to an independent medical school, negotiated the purchase of a building for a satellite clinical campus, partnered with state Medicaid leaders to secure more than $5 million annually in new funding for clinical teaching activities and developed a strategic plan for the creation of several new clinical departments,, expanded community clinical partnerships, and enhanced clinical research through  the creation of new clinical research center.

Alltop, who holds a B.B.A. in Management from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and an M.S. in administration and public administration from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI, has worked in higher education since 2009. He has held senior financial management positions at Ohio State University, Indiana University School of Medicine and West Virginia University School of Medicine before working at the University of Nevada, Reno where he has been employed since 2017. Alltop spent several years working for the state of Ohio and began his career in banking in 2002.
