  • Motion made to approve minutes as written: Serdar; Seconded by Millicent. Minutes approved as written.
Business:

PSYC 3380 Evolutionary Psychology
  • Grading Scale was appropriate down to the scores that constitute a D and an F
    • 524-450 = D
    • <459 = F
  • Judy Smith made a motion to approve the syllabus pending clarification on the grading scale. Serdar seconded the motion; motion was unanimously approved.
MATH 3322 Introduction to Advanced Math
  • Syllabus was revised to give students more flexibility in what pre-requisites they could enroll in.
  • Minimum grade for pre-requisites on the face page says inapplicable but in the syllabus it clearly states that students must have a C or better in the pre-requisites
  • Motion to approve the syllabus pending clarification on minimum grade required in pre-requisites by Judy; Seconded by Mamta; Motion approved unanimously.
PHYS 1370 Preparatory Physics Foundation and Application

  • The introductory sentence on grading at the top of page 3 said the approximate course curve is as follows. Sentence needs to be revised to The course grading is as follows:
  • Grading scale has overlapping numbers needs to be revised as follows for clarity:
    • 540 - 600  A
    • 450 - <540 B
    • 348 - <450 C
    • 312 - <348 D
    • <312 F
  • Motion made to return the Syllabus to the department for clarification by Judy: Serdar Seconded. Motion approved unanimously.
ELEN 3313 Signals and Systems
  • Motion made to approve as written by Judy; Mamta seconded. Motion unanimously approved
MEEN 4319 Material Science
  • Motion to approve as written by Millicent: Seconded by Garrick; Motion approved unanimously.

Other Business:

  • Edward questioned how the process was going to be changed with the use of Concourse Syllabus templates. Michael explained that there are certain sections that will still have to be reviewed that are included in the template. There are however other sections that have been standardized which will not require additional review.
  • Also questioned the use of hard copies of syllabi to be more ecofriendly. Michael explained that some people edit better from a hard copy and it is up to the membership as to whether they want to make the hard copies or not.
  • Hard copies are also required to have the signatures of approval from the submitting department, College Curriculum and the Dean of the respective schools.
Next meeting will be held Monday March 18, 2019 at 3:30 pm in Room 202 of the Reaud Building.
