Charge: The Research Council advises the Provost and the Associate Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs (AVP-Research) on issues related to the university's research programs and activities. The Council is responsible for developing policies and procedures to promote and enhance research and scholarly endeavors across the institution.
Membership & Reporting: Members of the council shall be elected by and from the full-time faculty, with one faculty representative from each college (two from Arts and Sciences) and the library. Faculty Senators and Deans will oversee the election process, and Department Chairs are ineligible to serve as faculty representatives. The council shall be chaired by the Associate Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs (AVP-Research), who will provide the charge to the committee. The council's recommendations will be presented to the Provost for consideration.
