The Parking Advisory Committee is the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus. Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Repairs & Maintenance
    • Currently have 9 work orders pending Miriam is working with Facilities to encourage movement on these projects
    • Discussing gate at C-4 service drive to stop unauthorized parking.
    • Working with Facilities to change work/PO setup so Parking office has more control over scheduling of repairs.
  • New appeals response form
    • Issue with reduction of fee votes Miriam advised the committee that fee-reduction does not automate. It has to be entered manually due to policies and approval requirements.
  • Campus map & 2024 permits progress Miriam advised the committee that map edits have been completed. The marketing department will finalize design.
  • LUPD actively recruiting CSOs to monitor parking lots.
  • Financial issues due to AIMS implementation problems. There are a lot of unpaid permits and tickets. Due to the late posting of fees in October 2022, many charges could not be debited from Banner accounts without funds. The amount cannot be determined. Some will be collectable in the future, others such as seniors who graduated in Dec 2022 and employees who are no longer with LU, will need to be written off.

OLD BUSINESS

  • Parking Management Software:
    • IT has all sync issues between AIMS and Banner worked out except posting of voided fees.
    • Permit issuance and ticket writing going well
      • 4,929 permits issued for 22-23 year, worth $293,854.
      • 2,175 tickets issued for 22-23 year, worth $81,290.
      • Ticket appeal rate is 16%, with 44% approved ($4,172).
