MINUTES

Present:               Dr. Brielle Frost (COFAC), Dr. Mark Mengerink (Arts and Sciences), Michael Saar (Ex-Officio)

  • Announcements

 

Michael Saar (Ex-Officio)

  • February 9, 2023, Research, Engagement and Learning (REL) held the “Women in STEM event. Students presented, faculty panel answered questions, hope to have event again in the future.
    • April 4, 2023, 65th FDLP, FBI Agent will be the guest speaker, 8th
    • Renovation no updates at this time. Books put up for deselection will go to Chad Morris with Facilities. 
    • Dean Search an ad will be posted around spring break, hope to fill the position by fall 2023.
    • Tech Share is Shared consortium of databases. We have decided to finance one more year EBSCO.
    • Staff updates, we are still looking for a REL librarian. Staff departures in cataloging and REL. We have hired 2, 18 month full-time staff, will work on government docs.  Sara Tuso will be one of those hired.

  • Science Direct / ELSEVIER - Packages like this can cost $80,000-$90,000, we do have most of these and add databases regularly so please check.

 

Michael Saar (Ex-Officio)

  • LibQual
  • Open February 20 – end of March. Allows us to access resources provided, services provided, etc. Survey takes about 5 minutes.  Available in English and Spanish this year.
