Vote! Election Day Shuttles Available to Polls

The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University Police Department and the Student Government Association are teaming up to help students vote. Catch an Election Day shuttle from the Setzer Center to the polls at the Montagne Center on Nov. 5 from noon until 3 p.m.

Captain's Kickoff For Lupus Foundation

The Lupus Foundation is hosting its "Captain's Kickoff" event. There will be a ribbon cutting by the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, followed by food, drinks, and music. It's a great time to come out and hear what the walk is about, join or create a team for the walk, or sign up to volunteer.

Cardinal Care First Gen Resource Fair

Love in Lavender: The LGBTQ+ History of Southeast Texas with Cassandre Broussard

Cassandre Broussard will share the results of her research gathering interviews and documenting the history of the LGBTQ+ communities in Southeast Texas. 2024 Cardinal Ideas Pitch Competition

2024 David J. Beck Ceremony
Date: Friday, Nov. 15, 1 - 2:30 p.m. Location: Reaud Building, Executive Event Space
You are invited to attend the 2024 David J. Beck Fellowship Ceremony. Beck Fellows Ryan Shugart, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and Mahima Verma, Computer Science major, will present their summer research projects.

Library Renovation Site Closures
Starting Monday, Nov. 11, Turner Construction will begin installation of the fence that will enclose the job site for the library renovation. Pedestrian circulation immediately around the library will be impacted accordingly, but access to all adjacent buildings will remain. A covered pedestrian walkway will be installed at the main entrance to the library to provide continued access into the building during Phase I.
The fence for Phase I is expected to be in place through July 2025. At that time, a new south entrance to the building will be opened up and the fence location will shift to accommodate Phase II of construction. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we get this important project underway.

Cardinal Closet Now Accepting Donations
We're accepting shirts, shoes, pants, dresses, coats, ties, and more for the Cardinal Closet. Any donated undergarments (socks, bras, underwear) must be new and in packaging, or with tags. Donation drop-off times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through Oct. 31, 2024. Drop-offs can be made at the Wesley Center, behind the Brooks-Shivers Dining Hall.

2025 David J. Beck Fellowship/Scholarship
The 2025 David J. Beck Fellowship includes up to $10,000 in funding for a summer project (summer 2025). These are full academic scholarships covering all tuition, books, fees and on-campus room and board. Fall 2025-Spring 2026 applications can be found in myScholarship.

State of Texas Seeking Non-Voting Student Representatives to TSUS Board of Regents & THECB
Deadline to apply: Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, 5 p.m.
Each year, the State of Texas seeks applicants for non-voting student representatives to the Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Students selected for these positions play an important part in representing the students of each Texas public university.
Applicants must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, be able to attend required TSUS or THECB meetings, and have a strong drive and self-motivation to contribute to the progress of higher education in Texas. Applications must be printed out and submitted no later than Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025 at 5 p.m. to the Office of the President, Reaud Building, Room 321.
