KVLU 50th Anniversary Giving Campaign

Date(s): Monday, Apr. 22 through Tuesday, Apr. 30
Location: 91.3 KVLU Public Radio

This spring KVLU celebrates 50 years of public broadcasting in Southeast Texas. Our golden anniversary giving campaign begins on Monday, April 22 and will conclude with a 50th anniversary celebration on Tuesday, April 30. You can renew your membership or become a new member now at kvlu.org.

KVLU Celebrates 50 Years

Date: Tuesday, Apr. 30, 2 - 4 p.m.
Location: Setzer Student Center, Live Oak Ballroom

Staff and friends of invite the public to join them in celebrating 50 years of public broadcasting in Southeast Texas on Tuesday, April 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Live Oak Ballroom in the Setzer Student Center. The event will include refreshments, live music and much more.

Center for Resiliency Distributes Disaster Backpacks for Smart Storm Training Participants

Date: Wednesday, May 1, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Cherry Engineering Building, Signature Center Suite

The LU Center for Resiliency continues to distribute disaster backpacks for Smart Storm training participants on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Signature Center Suites located in the Cherry Engineering Building. Bring your verification of training completion to receive your backpack.

Pulse 2024 Reception and Reading

Date: Thursday, May 2, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Location: John Gray Center, Price Auditorium

Please join us to celebrate the publication of Pulse 2024, LU's student literary magazine, on Thursday, May 2. Refreshments and a reception will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and student readings and featured alumni poet, Dave Oliphant will be featured from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

De-Stress Before the Test

Location: Mary & John Gray Library, 1st floor lobby

Final exams and the end of the semester can be stressful, Cardinals. Come de-stress before the test with snacks, crayons, and coloring sheets at Mary & John Gray Library.

National Stuttering Association Beaumont/ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Chapter Meeting

Date: Thursday, May 2, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Location: Speech and Hearing Sciences Building, Room 170

The NSA plays a vital role in letting people who stutter know that they are not alone. It’s estimated that over 160 ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ faculty, students and staff share the common experience of stuttering. Come join us either in person or via .

Free Septic System Clinic Coming to LU

Date: Tuesday, May 7, 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Science & Technology Building, Room 203

This informal clinic offers homeowners with septic systems the opportunity gain basic understanding of its operation and maintenance. Learn about a grant program focused on understanding bacterial transport pathways in the Neches River Tidal watershed. Q&A will be offered with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Wasterwater Specialists.

Graduate School Prep Boot Camp

Location: LU Science & Technology Building, Room 203

Hosted by the LU McNair Scholars program, we will share the benefits of extending their education beyond the undergraduate level. Students will be equipped to successfully find programs to meet their academic goals, navigate the application process, and succeed in graduate school.

Cardinal Communities is Looking for Peer Mentors

Cardinal Communities is looking for passionate members of the LU student body to apply to become a Peer Mentor. This position will offer students the opportunity to help their fellow Cardinals both new and incoming experience a smooth transition into a new academic environment. .
