Students at some Beaumont ISD elementary schools are learning to speak in green. Erica Babino, a ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University graduate and principal of Speaking in Green Consulting, donated her book, “Rolling into Peace: Speaking in Green.” The book is the first in a series of children’s books on the subject of mediation, resolving conflict, diversity and introducing the concept of “speaking in green,” or being peaceful in the way we communicate.
“This concept applies to all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and more and combines respect, civility and strong conflict resolution skills,” said Babino.
Babino donated the books to Beaumont ISD’s NESTs, innovative learning labs established in partnership with ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ University to encourage reading and STEM activities. NESTs are located in Blanchette Elementary School, Charlton-Pollard Elementary School and Pietzch-MacArthur Elementary School.
