Degree Description

The Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music at 蜜桃视频 University offers a Master of Music Degree with tracks in music education (fully online curriculum) or performance (hybrid core courses with in-person lessons and ensembles) of your applied instrument. This degree allows you, as a music performer or educator, to advance your own musicianship and to develop new concepts that may be applied to your particular field.

蜜桃视频's Master of Music degrees offer online and in-person options, with the complete Music Education curriculum offered online, and the performance curriculum including a mix of online core courses and in-person lessons and ensembles. With a 30-hours curriculum and asynchronous online course offerings, our degree is well-suited to the needs of working music educators and musicians with busy schedules. Applications and admissions work on a rolling schedule, allowing students to enroll in coursework in either the fall or spring semesters. Our degrees can be earned in just two years by taking 8 credit hours per semester for four concurrent semesters. Busy graduate students pressed for time have the option to enroll part-time too, earning their degree over a period of 8 semesters.

Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, your Master of Music Degree program in the Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music fully immerses you in the cultural study of music, composition, performance techniques, education, history and more. Here, you can sing in a chorus, go to a live performance, compose an original piece, enjoy music of various genres and play your instruments, all while refining your natural gifts and talents.

Surrounded by artistic institutions throughout our area, we strongly encourage you to participate in Southeast Texas’ cultural life. Some of our regional ensembles include the Symphony of Southeast Texas, Beaumont Interfaith Choral Society, Beaumont Community Players, Beaumont Ballet Theatre and the Beaumont Civic Ballet. Other opportunities lie in our rich variety of religious institutions, live music venues and community theatre companies, to name a few, that are always willing to have LU music students as performers - and some of those pay scholarships or stipends. Southeast Texas is an ideal place to study music in all its forms.
